ISLE OF JURA 19 YEARS THE PAPS 70CL
Isle of Jura 19 years the Paps is a worthy ending to five whiskeys that are an ode to the island. The oldest malt of the bunch, this single malt is named after three famous mountains: The Sacred Mountain, The Mountain of the Sound, and The Mountain of Gold. Together they form The Paps and tower high above the landscape.
Maturing takes place in American oak barrels, after which it is finished on Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks that previously contained 40-year-old PX. The complexity that this maturation gives to the Isle of Jura Paps is of an unprecedented quality.
The fragrance is powerful and combines gingerbread, ginger, vanilla and balsamic vinegar. In the mouth, syrupy notes of pear, figs and roasted walnuts emerge. Lightly fruity notes also show up and develop into layers of sweets.
